Sweet Stampede Blog Hop February 2025
Good afternoon and welcome back to my blog. Today kicks off our second Sweet Stampede blog hop of 2025! You may be coming from Suzy Hinton's Stamp n' Sip blog or starting here. Either way, I am glad you made it! There's a list of all the demonstrators participating at the end of this post so be sure to keep reading.
Our theme this month is super fun. Every participant has created a project based on this sketch designed by fellow Sweet Stampeder, Lisa Cunningham from LC Designs:
I decided to use several items from Sale-a-brations (SAB) for my project. What's Sale-a-brations, you ask?! It's only the best time of year for customers and demonstrators! Just kidding. We have multiple promotions throughout the year but I love this one the most and here's why.
SAB is Stampin' Up's annual sale event, which runs from January through the end of February. Customers can earn FREE items with every $60 purchase (before tax and shipping) from the Annual or Mini catalogs and in our Online Exclusives store. Some special items are also available with a $120 purchase. This special event ends at the end of this month so don't miss out and place your order today! If you're interested in checking out the catalogs, click on the links located on the left panel of this blog. And if you want to place an order, reach out to me first. Eventually, I will be posting host codes to make ordering easier. I'm still learning how to manage this blog so please be patient. Now onto my project:
Isn't it cute?! You might be thinking, "hmmm... that paper looks familiar." That's because I am continuing with the toadstool theme from January. :) I mentioned then that one of my daughters loves mushrooms. February is her birthday month so I've been feeling inspired. Here are the directions for making my card:
I took a 4 x 5.25 piece of Berry Burst cardstock and embossed it with the SAB Starstruck embossing folder (#164972). Embossing folders are an easy way to add dimension to your card and this one is FREE! It was adhered to a base layer of Thick Basic White cardstock.
I then added a 3 x 3 square piece of Granny Apple Green, tilting it right on the embossed layer.
Next, I cut a piece of 3 x 4 rectangle from the Toadstool Gardens DSP (#164942), another FREE product from the SAB catalog. I layered it over the Granny Apple Green cardstock, tilting it left before adding glue.
Finally, I took a strip of scrap Basic White cardstock and stamped the thank you sentiment in Pebbled Path ink from yet another SAB item, Heart Shaped bundle (#164953). This one is free with a $120 purchase. Not only does it have some cute love-themed stamps, but it also comes with dies! You might have noticed the sentiment looks slightly lighter than the normal Pebbled Path shade. That's because I wanted to pull out one of the colors from the DSP so I "stamped off" before stamping on the strip. Pro tip: if you ever struggle with coordinating colors, just use your DSP for inspiration! I added dimensionals before placing it on the card.
The final, final step was making a double bow using the Linen Thread from the Annual catalog and adhering it to the finished card with a glue dot. Voila - all done!
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you come back and visit me again for more creative ideas. In the meantime, it's time to keep crafting along the blog hop. Next up is the very talented Jana Edwards! Click on the image below to head over to her blog. And remember, if you ever get lost, come back to my site and start again.
